With only three weeks to go until this year’s event, we’ve been out and about filming a series of short videos with SHMU FM, Inspire and Glencraft Aberdeen about their participation in last year’s parade. Throughout the clips, they talk about some of the benefits that their organisation has taken from 2011′s event and tell us of their excitement of returning to take part again this year. 3rd Sector

Celebrate Aberdeen provides an ideal opportunity to promote and celebrate the success of third sector organisations.

Third sector organisations will be enable to tale part in the parade free of charge, with parade costs being funded through corporate sponsorship. Participating third sector organisations will reveive:

Large pole-mounted full colour flag on which the Third Sector organisation’s logo will appear
Two 3m x 1m parade banners on which the charity’s logo will appear alongside that of its ’sponsor’ - one will be retained each by the third sector and sponsor organisation

Representatives from sponsoring companies will have the opportunity to parade alongside their matched Third Sector organisation who will proudly display their sponsored and individualised banners and flag.

To take part in the parade you must register as a Parade Participant online by 29th February 2012. Registration is now open. Registration books you into the parade and is more than an expression of interest. There are deadlines which you will need to meet in order to take part. This year we are hoping to create a Celebrate Aberdeen Day with the parade just the centre. We’d like to have your ideas for additional:

Family Fun/Bring a Picnic to a Picnic in Union Terrace Gardens post Parade
Third Sector Market in Belmont Street post Parade
Mapful of Celebration – where you organise your own events on Celebrate Aberdeen day and the Celebrate Aberdeen team help promotes them
