While Volunteers' Week draws to a close for another year, the Celebrate Aberdeen Awards want to reward the North-east's top volunteer, and others this September.

The Celebrate Aberdeen Awards take place at the brand new P&J Live.

Alan Chalmers was recognised as 'Volunteer of the Year' at the 2018 awards for his tireless volunteering with Aberdeen charity Alcohol & Drugs Action.

What the judges had to say about Alan.

"Having gone through some health issues in his own life, Alan had the support of many individuals as he went through his recovery journey. He now believes he has choices in his life where others may not have choices and volunteers to try and support the less fortunate in society. Alan says being shortlisted for an award has come as a great surprise, but also a great honour so we can only imagine how he feels to be our winner."

Do you know someone like Alan?

Someone who continually goes the extra mile in terms of their contribution to the third sector and who deserves special recognition for their unpaid work?

Nominate them for Volunteer of the Year at the Celebrate Aberdeen Awards.

“The awards are free to enter and free to attend, and can help promote some of the great work going on in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire"

Morven Mackenzie, Celebrate Aberdeen

The Celebrate Aberdeen Awards will be held at Aberdeen’s new state-of-the-art event complex, P&J on Saturday, September 14 and will give recognition to individuals and third sector organisations that make an outstanding contribution within the Granite City.

More than 450 people are expected to attend the event, and thanks to the support of the local business community all shortlisted organisations and individuals will be able to attend the awards for free!
