Get your racing shoes on and get ready to go, competing in this year’s Union Street Mile, organised by North East of Scotland Athletics Partnership. Helping athletics clubs in the North East Scotland.
The Aberdeen Union Street Mile is back once more as a forerunner to the Celebrate Aberdeen Weekend on Saturday, August 24, with race organisers anticipating another successful event. The marvellous spectacle sets the stage for the fantastic Celebrate Aberdeen Parade which brings about a strong sense of community and all that’s good about Aberdeen to the fore. All of this is made possible with the help of local companies.
Entries for the 2019 races are sure to be snapped up as per previous years, so get your entries in ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Hopefully the 2019 event will prove as popular as ever with runners of all ages taking on the unique and popular challenge. The course is accurately measured by Jones Counter and certified, the race will have a permit from Scottish Athletics so the results will go on the power of 10 rankings.
The Race entries are open to Primary 6 and 7 pupils, Secondary 1 - 4 pupils, Seniors and Veteran Runners which includes secondary 5 and upwards.
Over 1000 speedy contestants have darted through Aberdeen’s most famous street since the race started.
This may be one of the Granite City’s shortest road races, but completing the one mile dash is no mean feat.
Seniors and Veteran Men must be able to complete the mile in 10 Minutes, Females should be able to complete in 11 Minutes.
Entrants will start the race at the Music Hall, then head up Union Street towards the Holburn Street Junction and then turn back to finish at the Castlegate, where participants can expect to be greeted by thundering cheers from eager onlookers.
Good luck to all runners who will be flying around the mile route in a bid to scoop the top spot. Make sure your there to soak up the electric atmosphere and cheer on our one mile dashers as they sprint through Union Street.
Saturday August 24th race schedule:
• 10:30 - P6 / P7 One Mile Race
• 10:40 - S1 – S4 One Mile Race
• 10:50 – Senior One Mile Race (results will be split into Seniors and Veteran Categories)
After the races are concluded, you can stay and watch the magnificent parade with many organisations taking part.
